BOUWSTENEN HERSENEN
• Bouwstenen hersenen = zenuwcellen
➔ Elk afzonderlijk neuron maakt verbinding met honderden andere neuronen → indrukwekkend
communicatie netwerk ontstaat
• Hersenen = informatie verwerkend systeem


CONCEPTUEEL BIOPSYCHOSOCIAAL KADER
• Organismen hebben bepaalde verschijningsvorm (= fenotype) die afhangt van de genetische opmaak
(= genotype = endogeen) en de omgeving (= exogeen)
• Fenotypisch kan een biologisch organisme beschreven worden in verschillende componenten zoals
genen, eiwitten, cellen, weefsels, organen, orgaanstelsels → organisme is als systeem opgebouwd
waarin deze componenten een complex georganiseerd geheel vormen
• Tijdsafhankelijke veranderingen (= evoluties) zijn het resultaat van:
• Veranderingen over de generaties heen: fylogenese
• Veranderingen tijdens de individuele levensloop: ontogenese
• Veranderingen van moment tot moment: plasticiteit
• De realiteit kan op verschillende niveaus beschreven worden in gelaagde niveaus


NIVEAUS
• Biologische basiseenheid = zenuwcel
• Zenuwcellen vormen samen neurale circuits → maken deel uit van een orgaanstelsel zoals het
zenuwstelsel
• Werking van deze circuits leiden tot gedragsfuncties → stellen ons in staat om activiteiten in het
dagelijkse leven uit te voeren → bepalen ook de rol die we opnemen in de maatschappij (participatie)
• Al deze niveaus zijn ontwikkeld door een interactie tussen genetica en omgeving doorheen de tijd →
biopsychosociaal model


HERSEN-GEDRAGSMODEL
Voorbeelden:

• Een klinisch psycholoog laat een kind testen uitboeren met een eye-tracker (registratie oogbeweging)
= gedragsniveau
• Patiënt komt bij arts met klacht: hij vindt voorwerpen die hij de vorige dag heeft weggelegd niet meer
terug = activiteitenniveau
