As the newly appointed CIO for a local IT company there is an expectation to build a

strong IT leadership team. It is important that this team understand not only company goals but

ensuring that the culture of the team remain intact. The goal is to deliver results while building a

strong platform of trust and respect. The leadership approach that will be communicated will

include strategies of innovative thinking, how commitment will be built, the approach to

overcome obstacles, handle conflict that will arise and how to do so while breaking down

communication barriers. The new team will be selected and onboarded, and we will work

together to ensure that the company is set up for success to deliver desired results.

Innovative Thinking

To enhance innovative thinking, the two will be Innovation Coaching with a consultative

and delegate focus. Overbearing leadership can hinder the results of not only leadership

downstream but also other employees. The goal will be to discuss the problems with the

leadership that is hired and ensure they are communicating with employees. Employees are the

feet on the street and have the most visibility into the day-to-day hardships. Once there is an

understanding as to what the main goals are for the company and those of the employees,

solutions will be tasked and delegated to allow the group of leaders to make decisions on how

everyone can reach the common goal of reaching company objectives while building trust and

having an open line of communication with employees. This will help align the team which in

turn sets expectations and setting norms.

Once these approaches are in place, it will allow for a safe space for not only employees

but also leaders to give examples, set limits and even ask for ideas that may not seem ideal or
