This chapter outlines the research design and methodology for my study on
school discipline perceptions among learners, the improvement of questioning
techniques in the classroom, and an analysis of indigenous knowledge in
textbooks through critical discourse analysis (CDA). I will discuss the relevant
research paradigms and approaches I intend to adopt, along with the methods of
data collection and analysis. Attention will also be paid to sampling techniques,
ethical considerations, and measures to ensure the quality of my findings.
Research design
This study uses a mixed-methods research design, combining both numbers and
words to better understand important issues (Creswell, 2014). First, it involves a
survey to understand how learners view discipline in their educational settings. By
collecting data from students, we can see what they think about rules and
