We at Wave Recruitment have been approached by an institution called Mother and Baby
Clinic to assist them with a job appointment. The Position is Head Parental Counsellor, the
focus of this position would be to help mothers from rural areas with the parenting process.

Mother and Baby Clinic is a Non- Profit Organisation focused on improving the health of
mothers and children. Mother and Baby Clinic has been experiencing difficulties in their
parental counselling departments which are overseen by the Head Parental Counsellor. The
previous Head Parental Counsellor was let go as she could not fulfil her duties.

Within the parental counselling department, the issues that have been apparent are:

• Lack of leadership

• Lack of communication among department

• Employees do not reach goals, because they struggle to work as a team.

Because the Parental Counselling department has been troublesome, the team morale has
gone down as the counsellors are not performing at their best possible level. The issues
with this are:

• Parents are not counselled at highest level.

• Counsellors are unhappy with current work situation and organisational culture.

The Job vacancy is that of Head Parental Counsellor. The primary function would be to
oversee day to day activities, provide leadership for employees and help the institution to
reach the highest possible goals.

The Job requirements that we have analysed would be necessary for the position are:

• Friendly Demeanour

• 3 years’ experience as Counsellor

• Degree in Counselling Psychology/Applied Psychology

• Good communication skills

• Self-Motivated
