Positive/Negative sentences
1 verb need to let see of it he/she or it is
- A positive sentence is a sentence that says what is.
- I’m a girl.
- He does hockey.
- A negative sentence is a sentence that says what is not.
- He is not a girl.
- We aren’t playing hockey today.
- A question sentence is a sentence when is ask something
- If you want to make a question sentence you need to switch the
verb and the subject


Present simple (Tegenwoordige tijd)

Use:
We use the present simple when:
- We talk about facts and habits (feiten en gewoontes)
- It describes a situation which is permanent or happens regularly.
- Positive sentences → Shit rule
- Negative sentences
- Questions
- When we talk about Work & Hobby
- When something is happening in the now, 1 time

Types:
- 2 types of verbs in the present simple
- Auxiliary verbs (hulpwerkwoorden) → Are, Do, Can,
- Main verbs (Hoofdwerkwoorden) → Work, Love, Read


From:
- 1 verb → Add Do and Not in the sentences.
- I love pizza → I do not love pizza
- 2 verbs → Add Not in the sentences.
- I have read a book → i have not read a book
- Exception → to be


Auxiliary verbs Main verbs

Positive sentences I am a girl. You work in the store.
He is my best friend. She loves sport.
We can do this. They read the story.

, Negative sentences I am not a girl. You do not work in the store.
He is not my best friend. She does not love sports.
We cannot do this. They do not read the story.

Question sentences Are you a girl? Do you work in the store?
Is he my best friend? Does she love sports?

Past simple (Verleden tijd)

Use:
- We use the Past simple to talk about events that are over.
(Gebeurtenissen die al gebeurd zijn)
- Positive sentences
- Negative sentences
- Questions
- Work
- Hobbies Time marker (eind of begin van
een zin)
- Facts



Types:
- 2 types of verbs in the past simple .
- Irregular verbs (onregelmatige werkwoorden) → (Verbs that change in sound
or spelling) → Do, See, Come
- Regular verbs (regelmatige werkwoorden) → (Verbs that end in -ED in the
past tense) → Kill, Add, Ask
Form:
Verb+ ED → Worked, played, begged
- N,L,B,D,G worden verdubbeld in de verleden tijd
- Only 1 verb can show the time
- After did you use the full verb
- (After did the full verb it is)
A verb that ends with a ~Y become a ~ied
Try → Tried
Study → Studied


But:
Enjoy → Enjoyed
