KLM1 – Task 1: Marketing C212: Marketing June 12, 2024 2
A. Develop a proposal for your chosen business’s global strategic marketing plan in which you do the
following: 3
1.Identify two new products and/or services that the company can sell or offer to a global market.
In 1994, Amazon was founded by Jeff Bezos inside a garage in Bellevue, Washington (Michigan Journal of Economics, 2023) . Originally, Amazon started as an online bookseller, though today it has become one of the biggest online sales corporations in the world. Proving this point, they saw an increase of about $29 billion in net sales from 2013 to 2021 and 2021 saw a total of $31.77 billion in net sales of Amazon Prime alone (Michigan Journal of Economics, 2023) .
Jeff Bezos continues to look to the future, always thinking of the next best thing to add to the ever- growing Amazon product lineup. Because of this, we propose adding two new services to Amazon’s global market. The first service is Amazon HealthHub, an AI-driven health and wellness platform. The
second service is Amazon EcoHome , which provides sustainable home solutions. Adding these two services to their global market supports Amazon’s existing commitment to our communities and our planet (Amazon, n.d.).
We suggest testing both new services in Japan because they are known for their technological advancements and innovation. Japan is also an environmentally conscious country that focuses on the healthcare of their citizens, many of whom are reaching their older years. We believe this will create a demand for both the HealthHub and the EcoHome services.
We suggest pricing for the HealthHub services include a basic, premium, and family plan, as well as a pay-per-use option for non-subscribers. This would not include the purchase of the fitness/health tracking device. We suggest pricing for the EcoHome includes a basic solar, advanced solar, and premium solar systems, as well as add-ons like smart home devices. Those prices do not include installation.
