SCHIZOTYPAL PERSONALITY DISORDER - -a personality disorder characterized by detachment from, and great discomfort in, social relationships; odd perceptions, thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors SCHIZOPHRENIFORM DISORDER - -Same symptoms of schizophrenia but lasting one month but no more than six. CONVERSION DISORDER - -a rare somatoform disorder in which a person experiences very specific genuine physical symptoms for which no physiological basis can be found. Has been traced to two etiological mechanisms: Primary Gain (keeping an inner conflict out of consciousness) and secondary gain (avoiding an unpleasant activity). Alleviated under hypnosis. FACTITIOUS DISORDER - -an illness with no identifiable physical cause, in which the patient is believed to be intentionally producing or faking symptoms in order to assume a sick role HYPOCHONDRIASIS - -A somatoform disorder characterized by excessive preoccupation with health concerns and incessant worry about developing physical illnesses. MENTAL RETARDATION - -A Developmental Disorder (IQ=70 or below) and onset is prior to 18. Impairments in daily living (communication, self-care, academic, work, etc). Four subtypes: Mild Mental Retardation=50/55-70, Moderate=35/40-50/55, Severe=20/25- 35/40 and Profound below 20 READING DISORDER - -Reading performance significantly below the standard for that age level. (Learning Disorder) ENURESIS - -An Elimination Disorder where voiding of uring during day/night that is usually voluntary and cannot be explained by a medical condition or substance use. ADHD - -A Disruptive Behavior Disorder usually seen by age 7 (4x higher in boys) of one or more of three key symptoms: extreme inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. OPPOSITIONAL DEFIANT DISORDER - -A Disruptive Behavior Disorder involving recurrent pattern of negativistic, defiant, and hostile behaviors toward authority. CONDUCT DISORDER - -A Disruptive Behavior Disorder involving a persistent pattern of behavior in which the rights of others or basic social rules are violated. Onset prior to age 10. PICA - -An Eating Disorder of Infancy or Early Childhood that involves persistent eating of non-nutritive substances. RUMINATION DISORDER - -An Eating Disoder to Infancy or Early Childhood that involves repeated regurgitaiton, rechewing of food without apparent nausea or disgust STUTTERING - -Speech pattern in which long pauses are injected into sentences, or one sound or phrase is repeated. Onset is normally between the ages of 2 and 7 but can remit again by age 16. TOURETTE'S DISORDER - -A disorder characterized by multiple motor tics (e.g., eyeblinking, skipping, deep knee bends) and one or more vocal tics (e.g., grunts, barks, sniffs, snorts, coughs, utterance of obscenities). AUTISTIC DISORDER - -Pervasive Developmental Disorder where there are three defining features: impairment of social interaction, impairment of communication, restricted, repetitive, stereotyped patterns of behavior, interests, and activities. SEPARATION ANXIETY DISORDER - -Childhood disorder where developmentally inappropriate and excessive anxiety concerning separation from home or attachment figures. ACUTE STRESS DISORDER - -an anxiety disorder in which fear and related symptoms are experienced soon after a traumatic event and last less than a month
