VATI Remediation Maternal
newborn
1.-Grow during preg. due to increased estrogen. shrink during menopause, unless
HRT
- Can ‘ risk of post partum hemorrhage, miscarriage, preterm birth
- will need multiple ultrasounds throughout to minitor Tx:
Myomectomy (remove fibroids)
Hysterectomy
Ablation (hot fluid): Uterine Fibroids (Leiomyomas)
2.o Benign neoplasm that can turn malignant; starts like any other normal
pregnancy
o Grape-like clusters of fluid filled cysts
Slough off causing dark brown discharge
o May/may not have a fetus involved, usually fetus is not involved s/s are
the
- uterus enlarges way too fast;
- absence of fetal heart tones;
- bleeding (sometimes will have vesicles);
- confirmed with an ultrasound
-increased urinary output: hydatidiform mole (molar pregnancy)
3.Betamethasone
Glucocorticoid to promote fetal lung maturation: Preterm labor treatment
4.Absence of fetal kidneys causing oligohydramnios: a volume of amniotic fluid less
than 300 mL during the third trimester of pregnancy and occurs when there is a renal
system dysfunction or obstructive uropathy.: renal agenesis
5.a nonreassuring FHR pattern resulting from fetal HYPOXEMIA due to INSUF-
FICIENT PLACENTAL PROFUSION.
The nurse should reposition the client, initiate
oxygen,
increase the infusion rate of IV fluid to enhance placental perfusion.: Cause of Late
