How Torr Quarry is becoming more sustainable:
- 60 acres landscaped to blend in with surrounding environment (planting trees /
grass, creation or wildlife lakes)
- Natural habitats that were lost due to extraction can now be restored
- Encourages biodiversity
- Makes the landscape more attractive to local people
- Environmentally & Socially sustainable
- Limestone features created to mimic natural limestone scenery
- The Quarry will blend in with natural environment (prevent it becoming an
eyesore)
- After Quarrying finishes it wont look like human activity has been there

- Limestone is transported by rail instead of by road
- Ensures excess road traffic & congestion kept to a minimum
- Releases less CO2 emissions
- Creates jobs & boosts investment in local rail infrastructure
