Brabantio Desdemona's father; We learn that he died at the end of the play due to heartbreak from Desdemona's betrayal and marriage to Othello. Montano A well-liked nobleman who gets stabbed by Cassio, resulting in Othello firing Cassio from being his lieutenant. Bianca A prostitute in Cypress who has fallen in love with Cassio and gets angry when she finds another woman's handkerchief in Cassio's bedroom. Lodovico A Venetian senator and cousin of Desdemona. Cassio Othello's lieutenant; loyal and honest to Othello; gets drunk one night and fights Montano, resulting in Othello firing him; accused of having an affair with Desdemona, but he never slept with her.
