DOT certification Marking Scheme does not require CDL - ANSWER- farm vehicle, fire fighter, recreational motor home non-discretionary standards - ANSWER- insulin treatment for diabetes, epilepsy, hearing and vision unrestricted CMV must be renewed every - ANSWER- 2 years ABGs - ANSWER- PaO2 >65% PaCO2 < 45% 2 year seizure waiting period - ANSWER- acute seizure with CNS insult 8 year seizure waiting period - ANSWER- epilepsy on or off prescription, no activity, must apply for exception 5 year seizure waiting period - ANSWER- single seizure unprovoked bacterial meningitis with seizure activity 2 year misc. neuro waiting period - ANSWER- moderate TBI w/out seizure surgical removal of spinal tumor 1 year misc. neuro waiting period - ANSWER- TIA, stroke, bleed w/out seizure risk surgical repair of AVM, aneurysm, benign tumor without risk of seizure CNS infection without seizure 5 year misc. neuro waiting period - ANSWER- moderate TBI with seizure stroke with seizure risk head bleed with seizure risk 10 year seizure waiting period - ANSWER- viral encephalitis with seizures stage 1 HTN - ANSWER- 140-159/90-99 certify for 1 year recert: 1 year if controlled, 3 months if untreated ONCE stage 2 HTN - ANSWER- 160-179/100-109 certify: treat and certify for 3 months ONCE recert: if controlled one year stage 3 HTN - ANSWER- 180/110 and above certify: not until controlled then only for 6 months recert: 6 months if controlled or 3 months if still at stage 1 or 2 secondary HTN - ANSWER- hyperaldosteronism, pheochromocytoma, renal disease wait 3 months then can certify for 1 year CVD disqualifiers - ANSWER- unable angina, syncope, ischemia on EKG, EF < 40%, unable to tolerate ETT, cardiomyopathy, pulmonary HTN, untreated valve or vascular condition, ICD, or on coumadin that is not monitored or not therapeutic
