Racism: so far, so bad-
•Exists at all levels of human activity
•Power-based inequities
Racialized economic outcomes

•Range of tonal manifestation from gentle to crude

Ex. Freddy Gray’s childhood has defined by racialized prophesizes of his inferiority as a
human being


Racism is present in all levels of Bronfenbrenner’s bioecological model




Other core features of racism:

•Power inequities. Gross differences exist in the leverage and control afforded
the oppressed and the privileged

•Lethality. Ultimate outcome of racism is premature death in the oppressed.

•Mutability. Manifestations can range from subtle and nearly imperceptible to
vulgar and crude.

, •Violent essence. In any and all forms, racism is an act of violence against the
oppressed.
