These notes are based on the introduction of Schwartz' "Basic Verbal Skills for Music Therapists", a text that is required for all music therapy majors at Eastern Michigan University to read in their senior year of undergraduate studies. The introduction focuses on the importance of music therapists having effective basic verbal skills, the four categories of verbalization, and the three levels of skill-building.
