Elements/capabilities of the Email Dashboard in Hubspot 1. Search for your email by name. 2. Create a new email. 3. Filter by campaign. 4. Filter by All rates, Click Rate, Open Rate to change what appears in your graph. 5. Display All emails, Sent, Scheduled, Drafted, or Archived emails. 6. Quick access to more tools, including managing your Email Settings and exporting a list of unsubscribed and bounced contacts. 7. Create new folders for email organization. 8. A quick look at Spam reports, unsubscribes, and unknown users within recent email sends. 9. List of recent emails and their metrics. Integration with other HubSpot tool Any Call-to-Action you have in HubSpot can be inserted easily into your email, as well as any images or documents you've uploaded to your File Manager. Along with the ability to use your content in an email, you are able to utilize your HubSpot contact database to send to targeted lists and personalize your content to a particular contact. Templates and Design Templates can be customized to fit your design desires with an easy drag-and-drop interface. When creating a template, you can add new modules, remove ones you don't want, and move them where you want them to be. Additionally, HubSpot provides a template marketplace where you can buy custom templates for your email. Mobile optimization HubSpot's email tool has built-in email testing tool. This feature allows you to see what your email will look like on multiple devices and web clients before you send it. HubSpot's email templates also have built-in responsiveness for mobile-friendliness. List Segmentation and Personalization HubSpot's Email tool works in tandem with your HubSpot contact database. When creating an email you have the ability to personalize an email with a personalization token - this token looks into the contact record of the person receiving the email and is able to pull that information from the contact record and place it into your email. Email Analytics Throughout the Email tool, there are places to see how your email marketing campaign is performing, starting directly from your Email Dashboard which is meant to display a view of the results of your emails as a whole or by campaign to help you make future decisions without having to go to Sources or Reporting to see this information. If you navigate to All or Sent emails within your Email Dashboard, you can adjust the columns to see more metrics from your Emails. Once you choose what you'd like to see in your columns, you can see that view. You can dig even deeper into individual email metrics. After you send an email, HubSpot will show you the overall performance of that specific email send. You can see the engagement rates of your email send, deliverability, contacts lost, engagement over time, opens by device type, and clicks by device type. You can also filter your email analytic screen by Recipients. Here you will see who the email was sent to, as well as other deliverability data. To learn more about measuring your contacts' engagement with your emails, check out this article. You can filter your recipients here by specific deliverability metrics by clicking on the individual tabs for each. You can also create lists of these contacts, export these contacts to an Excel file, or send this email to more contacts. How to set up your email footer information One of the first steps to ensuring you're holding up your end of being CAN-SPAM compliant is by setting your Email Footer Information with your postal address. Steps to make your email CAN-SPAM compliant 1. Navigate to Content Email. 2. Once in the Email tool, on the left-hand side, click on the link to Manage Settings. 3. Once in your Email settings, you'll see on the left-hand side that you're automatically taken to the Footer Information section. 4. Within the Email Footer Information area, you'll see multiple empty text box fields. Very similarly to filling out a HubSpot form, you'll want to go through the fields here and enter your information into as many fields as possible. Of course, not all fields are required, but there are four that are: Company Name, Address, City, and State. All required fields are marked with asterisks next to the label (highlighted below). And, of course, make sure you Save changes once you're done. 5. You can see that there is also phone number and zip code, which isn't required but additional information is always helpful to have as much information as possible in your email footer. Adding your address here in your email settings means you only have to set up this address once and whenever you navigate to write a new email to your contacts, the address you specify in your email settings will automatically populate within the email footer. How to set your email size Try to keep your email width at or under 600 pixels. 1. Navigate to Content Email. 2. Once in the Email tool, on the left-hand side, click on the link to Manage Settings. 3. Email Size is a very small section of your email settings and lives just below the Email Footer Information section. Scroll down to see it. 4. The Email Body is where your content will actually live - any text or images you insert will live there. The Email Body Padding is the space within the Email Body between the text and the border. It's a good idea to have some padding so that your text or images don't hit the edge of the email but have some space to breathe on the sides. Aesthetically, this can be a good choice to make. If you want to edit these options, simply click into the Email Body Width or Email Body Padding text fields, enter the number you'd like for each, and click Save changes. Subscription settings section within the Email Settings where you dictate what pages are displayed when a customer decides they want to manage the types of email they receive from you, unsubscribe backup pages in case the identity of your visitor is unknown, or unsubscribe from your email communications. These are required to have when sending an email, as dictated by the rules of CAN-SPAM compliance, but you can at least have some control over how you want these to look. How to customize email subscription settings 1. Navigate to Content Email. 2. Once in the Email tool, on the left-hand side, click on the link to Manage Settings. 3. Once in your Email settings, click on Subscription Settings in the left-hand side menu. 4. Your Subscription Settings will have default pages set up for you that you can certainly continue to use if you'd like, they'll do the job for your to ensure you are being CAN-SPAM compliant and giving your customer everything they need. If you want to customize the wording on these or perhaps even add a fun image to show you're sad to see them go - then you can do so by choosing View Template, cloning the template, making whatever customizations you want to make and selecting that new template in the settings below. How to set up resubscription emails for forms 1. Navigate to Content Email. 2. Once in the Email tool, on the left-hand side, click on the link to Manage Settings. 3. Once in your Email settings, click on Resubscription Settings in the left-hand side menu. 4. Before you turn this feature on, you'll want to make sure you create and publish the email first. So let's click on Create Email. 5. You'll be taken to a newly created resubscribe email where you can edit whatever parts of the email you'd like for personalization, like the From Name, From Email, Message Subject, etc. This email will have pre-populated text that you can alter to make it your own, but you must keep the blue personalization tag that displays ("Update Your Subscription Preferences") - this is a required token within the email to save and send properly. 6. Once you've edited your email to your heart's content, click Publish Resubscribe Email. 7. Once you publish your resubscribe email, you'll be taken back to your Email Settings where you should now see the link says "Edit Email" instead of "Create Email." At this point, you're ready to Enable your email! Check the box next to "Enabled" and Save changes. 8. Now, when someone whom was previously unsubscribed to your email communications comes back to your site and fills out a form, they should see a form with a link with a CTA to opt back in How to set up double opt-in 1. Navigate to Content Email. 2. Once in the Email tool, on the left-hand side, click on the link to Manage Settings. 3. Once in your Email settings, click on Double Opt In in the left-hand side menu. 4. Once at the section for the Double Opt In email feature, before we can enable this feature we need to click Create/Edit Email next to Request Email. 5. Now that you're in the email tool, you can add content to your double opt-in email to personalize it for your contacts. You'll see there's a blue token that is required (CONFIRM YOUR SUBSCRIPTION) in order to save and publish your email. Once you've edited your email to your heart's content, choose Publish Opt In Email. 6. Now that you've created your Request Email, you'll want to choose your Confirmation Page. You can choose one that already exists from the dropdown or click to Create new page. Now you should be able to Save changes. 7. You'll also have the option of deciding whether or not someone receives a follow-up email after they confirm their subscription. To do this, check the box next to Include follow-up email, Create/Edit Email if you haven't already (repeat
