Reviews previous learning/prerequisite knowledge and skills In the application portion of the lesson, students are asked to fill in the blanks with answers they learned previously about what senses performed what jobs. This instructional practice will assist students to make connections between previous learned facts and connect it to new information they learn in class. Provides examples and, if appropriate, non-examples The students would say a sensation, and the teacher would say either “This could cause harm” or “This could not cause harm” This instructional practice allows the students to gain an understanding of new information that is being taught based on real-world scenarios they have encountered. Maximizes student engagement The students used their senses, other than their sight to identify objects presented by the teacher. By allowing students to use their senses to try and identify objects, the teacher is providing a hands-on learning experience
