STRATEGIES TO REDUCE AIR POLLUTION IN DELHI TO PREVENT LUNG CANCER IN CHILDREN
1. TITLE OF THE PROPOSED INTERVENTION 2. ABSTRACT Give a structured, concise and coherent summary of the proposal. 3. INTRODUCTION Reason for Intervention: Explain why the intervention is of public health importance. Population targeted: What population group or geographical region are you targeting, and why? Aim and objectives of the Intervention: Identify the aims and objectives of the intervention, i.e. what does it set out to achieve generally and specifically? 4. APPRAISAL Options appraisal: Outline and critique the feasible options available to you to achieve the aims and objectives of the intervention. You should include examples of similar interventions that have been carried out and highlight evidence from the literature. Strategic context: Critically analyse the main environmental drivers/strategic context of the intervention. Public health agenda: Your appraisal should identify relevant statutory provisions, public health agendas and policies at the local, regional, national and global levels where appropriate. Justification of choice: Give reasons for the option you consider the most appropriate. 5. INTERVENTION/STRATEGY Details of intervention: Describe the key features of the intervention and how it will be implemented/take effect. Working with others: What partnerships will you need to establish, how will partners be involved and what management/engagement/communication strategies will you use? Financial management: Provide a cost benefit analysis for the intervention. What available evidence is there that it will deliver value for money? Where could the money come from? Measuring progress: How is this to be achieved? What indicators will you use and what is the time scale proposed? 6. DISCUSSION & CONCLUSION Assessment of case: Critically reflect on the intervention. Identify any potential limitations and problems you might encounter, and how you will address them. Theoretical links: Reference any theories, models and evidence from the literature that are relevant to the objectives, design, delivery, outcomes and evaluation of the intervention. Conclusion/Link to Public Health: Describe what value your intervention will add, and how it likely to improve public health and /or reduce health inequalities.
