, QUESTION 1

a) People are influenced by their different upbringings and the cultures that which
they are born under. These cultures may, from time to time, be in conflict with
one another. The law aids people of different cultures to coexist with each
other by means of mitigation in the sense that it guides human behaviour,
prescribes what is acceptable and what is not acceptable and promotes
accountability whilst preventing future occurrences of the conflicts. Without the
law chaos would ensue and humans would not be able to co-exist efficiently in
society.1 This is a phenomena that can be referred to as anarchy.

Question 2

a)This metaphor suggests that the education system is functioning like a bank,
where students are seen as passive recipients of knowledge and are expected to
accumulate and store information without necessarily understanding or engaging
deeply with the material. Just as a bank receives deposits and holds them without
generating much growth, the metaphor implies that the education system might
focus on rote memorization and standardized testing rather than fostering critical
thinking, creativity, and meaningful learning experiences. Just as a bank receives
deposits and holds them without generating much growth, the metaphor implies
that the education system might focus on rote memorization and standardized
testing rather than fostering critical thinking, creativity, and meaningful learning
experiences. For example, in his book “De-schooling Society,” educator and
philosopher Ivan Illich criticized traditional education systems as “banking
education” that deposits information into students’ minds rather than fostering
active, participatory learning.2
