Introduction:
For D1 I am required to analyse the pros and cons of interrelationships between companies. In order
to thoroughly explore all aspects of interrelationships, I will be focussing on Thomas Cook
organisation. Basically, in addition to my merit work, I will be analysing the importance of
interrelationships with in Thomas Cook. Thomas cooks have been around since 1974. This year they
are celebrating their 175th anniversary which makes them one of the longest running travel agency
company. They are a private sector because they’re not funded by the government. Throughout the
years they have gained a great reputation for their services. Thomas cook is one of the giants of travel
agency companies in the travel and tourism industry. They provide their clients with a holiday
package that consist of all the things needed in a holiday such as accommodation, transport,
attractions, ancillary services etc. they are part of the TUI union which is short for tourist union
international. This union consist of 27 travel agency companies in almost 180 countries.

Sometimes companies in the travel and tourism sector have to put aside their competitiveness and
set up links with one another in order to generate more income together. Thomas cook is connected
with variety of companies and organisations in order to boost their goal of becoming a successful
