Bradycardia (if asymptomatic) second degree heart block type 2 Anticholinergic effect: dry mouth, blurred vision, constipation, urinary retention 0.5 mg dose (for second degree heart block type 2, if not pacemaker), Max is 3mg Adenosine Other Gives you a period of asystole long enough to reboot through SA node, so SA becomes the pacemaker and not the AV node Treats SVT Sinus bradycardia, dyspnea, hypotension, facial flushing (from vasodilation), chest discomfort Short ½ life (1.5-10 seconds), slam it into the pt, have pt. raise arm so med goes to heart quickly, pt. on continuous 12 lead EKG monitoring, CAN’T exceed more than 3 doses! Diltiazem Calcium channel blocker (cardio specific) Slows the SA node automaticity, delay AV node conduction, reduce myocardial contractility AFIB, A Flutter, SVT to regulate (slow) HR Prolonged PR interval, constipation, bradycardia, AV block, dig toxicity Prolonged PR interval, caution when combining with dig & beta blockers
