Title: "The Impact of Emotional Intelligence on Patient Outcomes in Nursing Practice"
Abstract: This paper explores the impact of emotional intelligence (EI) on patient outcomes in the field of nursing practice. As patient satisfaction becomes an increasing priority in health care institutions, this research aims to uncover the potential correlation between the EI of nursing staff and the health outcomes of patients under their care. Data was collected via surveys and patient health records from three major hospitals. The findings suggest a significant positive correlation between the EI of nursing staff and improved patient outcomes. 1. Introduction Emotional Intelligence (EI) is a concept that encapsulates an individual's ability to identify, understand, use, and manage emotions in a positive way. Previous research has indicated a strong association between EI and workplace productivity, job satisfaction, and effective leadership in several professions. In nursing practice, emotional intelligence is seen as a vital skill due to the interpersonal nature of the work. This study aims to investigate the relationship between nurses' EI and patient outcomes. 2. Literature Review Prior studies have shown that a nurse's ability to empathize, communicate effectively, and manage stress has significant effects on the level of patient care provided. High levels of EI can lead to improved patient satisfaction, better patient-nurse relationships, and reduced stress levels in nurses. It has also been linked to reduced burnout rates among healthcare professionals.
