ECE question with complete solution 2023My definition of early childhood education is to foster children's development and learning. I believe that the early childhood education is for children from birth to age of 6 and its purpose is to help children reach their optimum level of development in physical, psychological, emotional and social aspects. The text definition of early childhood education is a group setting that affect children development from birth to age 8. My belief is that early childhood education is not limited to group setting because I believe that parents also play an important role in children's development. Most children in Canada spend most of their first year at home rather than in a group setting. The textbook defines early childhood education from birth to age 8 whereas I believe it ends at age of 6. I believe that early childhood education ends at 6 is because most children at this age have moved on to elementary schools. Instead of focusing on developing skills, children also start learning knowledge and have more responsibilities and self-disciplines such as homework. - answerDefine early childhood education in your own words. Include age ranges and what you believe to be its purpose. Contrast this to the text definition and defend your position. 1. John Comenius wrote the first picture book for children. He believes that children learn at their own speed so educators should follow this timetable. He encourages parents to have their children to play with each other to foster learning. 2. John Locke believes that children were born neutral as a "clean slate" and learn from experiences. He suggested that the instruction should be fun for the children and should be taught through senses to help children to understand. 3. Jean Rousseau believes that children were naturally good and should be allowed to have spontaneous interest and activities. This led to free play for children and have children to decide what to learn. 4. Johann Pestalozzi starts the idea of the integrated curriculum for the whole child's development including the hand, the head and the heart.
