OHIO STATE POLITICS
Ohio State Politics Ohio has two senators and 16 representatives as required by the constitution in the United States. Every state has to elect two senators every six years regardless of the size. Ohio has two senators, namely, Sherrod Brown, a senior senator, and a democrat, since 2007, and Robert Portman, a junior senator who has been a republican since 2011 ("Ohio Senators, Representatives, and Congressional District Maps - GovT," 2021). The U.S. has 435 districts headed by representatives, also known as congressmen or congresswomen. Ohio State has 16 representatives, but this essay focuses on Bill Johnson, the 6 th district representative and has been a republican since 2011.
