Provisional Licensure - ANSWER-1) Completed application form and fee of no more than 250 2) Earned a doctoral degree in psychology 3) Met any additional requirements established by board 4) Must work under the supervision of licensed psychologist until the licensee is in receipt of a license or letter Provisional license expires 24 months after date of issue. Licensure by Endorsement - ANSWER-1) Is diplomate in good standing with the American Board of Professional Psychology 2) Possesses a doctoral degree in psychology and has at least 10 years of experience as a licensed psychologist in the USA within the 25 years predating application 3) Must pass Florida Laws and Rules 4) Cannot issue this to someone under investigation until investigation is complete Renewal of License - ANSWER-Biennial renewal of a license with fee not to exceed 500 Must present evidence of CEs not to exceed 25 hours per year Continuing Education - ANSWER-Providers must be approved by board/department Board has authority to set a fee not to exceed 500 for each applicant who applies for or renews provider status. Inability to Practice Due to Mental/Physical Condition - ANSWER-If probably cause exists to believe that licensee cannot practice effectively, they have the authority to compel person to submit to a mental or physical examination by psychologists or physician. Unlicensed person may practice under supervision Licensed School Psycholoogists - ANSWER-Can practice private sector services while employed by a school if: 1) Adult is informed in writing of their eligibility for free district services 2) Client is not a student of the schools to which psychologist is assigned 3) Adult is informed that as dual practitioner, cannot serve as an independent evaluator 4) Does not promise 24 service or on call services. Does not engage in private practice during employment hours 5) Does not use position within school to offer private services 6) Does not utilize materials belonging to school Exemptions - ANSWER-1) Does not apply to physicians unless they're using protected professional titles 2) Does not apply to nursing, clinical social work, marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling, unless using protected titles Exemptions from Licensure - ANSWER-1) Employees of certain agencies if person is performing duties they were trained to do, and as long as they are not marketed as psychologists 2) Salaried employee of nonprofit organizations providing counseling services, if they are without charge, and no one is saying they're a psychologist 3) Student who is pursuing study who is providing services in a training setting. Must use designated titles like intern or trainee to indicate student status 4) Certified in school psychology by department of education and is performing services as employee of public or private educational institutions.
