6.1 Define e-portfolio

An e-Portfolio is a digitized collection of artifacts that represent an individual, group, or institution,
such as demonstrations, resources, and accomplishments. It is a purposeful aggregation of digital
items ideas, evidence, reflections, feedback, etc., which presents a selected audience with evidence
of a person's learning and or ability and as a collection of digital artifacts articulating experiences,
achievements, and learning created by the learner.

6.2 What is the purpose of an e-portfolio?

E-portfolios that are properly designed can facilitate students' active engagement, guidance and
support, collaboration, and reflection on their learning, resulting in increased awareness of their own
learning strategies and needs. They are envisioned as effective learning environments that encourage
students to think about content selection and creation, objectives and criteria used, criteria for
assessing the value of this content, evidence of their achievements, self-reflection, and peer
feedback.



6.3 Describe the steps for planning and compiling an e-portfolio in the Economics class

Step 1 Purpose of planning the e-portfolio

Before starting with the e-portfolio you need to decide on the purpose and compiling the type of e-
portfolio that you have in mind. The aim, objective, type of evidence, knowledge, and skills
requirements. Planning and developing your e-portfolio is important in order to get constructive
feedback and assessment.

Step 2 Collection of type of evidence in e-portfolio

Before beginning the collection of evidence, it is necessary to understand what, why, and how the
type of evidence of the e-portfolio will be compiled. There should be instructions on how to include
artifacts in your e-portfolio. Lesson plans for Economics, for example, teaching aids, subject method
policy, and photographs. The teacher must also provide clear guidelines on how e-portfolio entries
are classified.

Step 3 Reflect on evidence in the e-portfolio

Give constructive feedback every time an activity is uploaded. The goal of constructive feedback is
not to judge your weaknesses, but rather to help you grow professionally. Each activity's evidence is
reflection, which is the heart and soul of an e-portfolio.
