List the major components of any nursing cirriculum design man, health, nursing, environment describe man as a major component of nursing cirriculum design composed of many systems, a biophyscosocial being, has basic physco-physiological needs, the acronym PERSON is to help remember the needs describe health as a major component of nursing design a dynamic state ranging from wellness to illness, needs of physchological, physical, spiritual, environmental, and cultural needs of a family are met. each individual posseses indiviudal strengths to meet these needs, and if they are not met they may require assistance from health care describe nursing as a major component of nursing cirriculum design nursing is preventing illness,alleviating illness, teaching about wellness and health, helping with suffering, help someone recover, achieve optimal health, help someone deal with death or being ill describe environment as a major component of nursing cirriculum nursing happens in any envrionment where a systematic approach to diagnosing and treating an indiviudal is applied What is Maslow's hierarchy of needs? need the most basic bottom ones first before you can get the top ones. goes from bottom to top, 1.Physiological need(oxygen, food, sex, rest, shelter) 2. safety/security 3.Love and belonging(friends, family, sexual relationship)4.Self esteem(self confidence, usefullness, achievement, self worth 5. Self acualization (reach full potential, see best qualities) identify every physiological needs from maslows hierarchy nutrition, oxygen, fluids, temperature, sex, shelter, rest/activity, elimination, avoidance of pain Define each part of the PERSON acronym and its relationship to man P-Pyschosocial(social belonging, mental spiritual needs, love, self-concept E- Elimination (ridding the bodywaste through metabolism, kidneys, urine, feces, sweat, lungs reproduction) R- Rest/Activtiy (sleep, mobility, muscoloskeltal, endocrine, your health depends on this need) S- Safe environment (no physical hazards, no pathogens, good sanitation, no pollution, integrity of skin, cell strucutre, nervous/immune system) O- Oxygen (cardiac respiratory systems, chemical regulators, blood oxygenatedthrough tissues) N- Nutrition (fuel for metabolism, organ function, need carbs, proteins, fats, water, vitamins, minerals what four specific groups of patients need most help in meeting physiological needs? very old, very young, disabled/ chronically ill, emotionally disturbed explain component health in terms of wellness-illness continuim each individual moves across a wellness illness continuim and posseses different strengths and abilities to meet the required needs,failure to meet these basic needs may cause a health problem and cause someone to need assistance from health care system how does the American Nurse Assosciation (ANA) define nursing protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, alleviation of suffering through the dignosis and treatment of the human response, and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, communities and populations define the nursing process a systematic problem solving approach toward providing individualized nursing care. used to diagnose and treat human response to illness, requires nurse to use critical thinking and act upon it describe the basic human needs model and its relationship to ccms organizing framework elements necessary for survival and health, human needs shared by all people, extenet to which basic needs are met is a determining factor in health, if the needs arent met a health problem could occur, applied by the use of PERSON and nursing process list and explain each step in the nursing process 1. Assessment : recording, analyzing, collecting, organizing, validating, a patients data of their health status, response to it, and their ability to manage health care needs, need critical thinking 2. Diagnosing: analyzing and identifying patient problems, formulating and documenting nursing diagnosis, compare contrast data, determine patients strengths and problems, 3. Planning :determining how to prevent, reduce, or resolve the patient problems, establish patient centered goals and outcomes, establish priorities, Individualized care plan that works with patient, write/ communicate plan, select nursing strageties and interventions 4. Implementation: promote wellness, prevent disease, assist patient to meet desired goals and outcomes, facilitate coping with health problems, document care, give verbal reports, constant re assessing patient for up to date data, performing interventions, 5. Evaluation: measuring degree of which outcome was or wasnt met, identifying factorss that positvely or negatively helped reach goals, decide whether to continue, modify, or terminate plan of care, collaborate with patient differientiate between a norm and a deviation when assessing a patients health need deviation: amount by which a fixed element differs from the normal things norm: normal range or level of something
