,Introduction
This report will be going over different web design principles throughout two different
websites and will focus on how they are used, and why, for the websites’ specific purpose,
in this case the websites chosen will have contrasting purposes, with one being corporate
and the other non-corporate in order to see how they function and present the information
on the site to achieve what they are set out to do.

The corporate site being the online sports clothing retailer, JD Sports which main aims are
ultimately to sell and promote as many items as possible; and the non-corporate being the
UK’s health service website, the NHS which its purpose is primarily to give information on
health and illness as well as aiding people to acquire appointments if they need.

,Usability
Usability is a crucial part of a website; one of the most important for a corporate site is that
the site not being usable is consequently going to result in loss of revenue and the
reputation of the company being lowered as a website reflects on the company itself.

As for a non-corporate site, essentially the same users will not visit the site again and if the
site has been made to provide information, it will simply not be able to be accessed by the
user and the research and application of the information has basically been wasted time.

NHS

The NHS site being non-corporate as well as a government managed service reflects how
the government approaches healthcare within the UK, so it needs a working and functional
site. This site does a great job of being usable; links work correctly, data and images are
loaded correctly and overall, it runs smoothly.

The site is also very reliable to use and as it is mostly text, it is not going to need a lot of
memory on a computer or form web servers to operate, probably a consideration when
being created by the web-developers. It is also important to consider the fact that the
information provided by this site can be very important and even life saving/altering advice
and therefore should easily be reachable, and when using this site, no problems seem to
arise.

, The image above shows many links that are labelled accordingly and which reliability
allow the user to traverse to information they require ultimately making the site easy to
use. This can be seen throughout the site.
