1. Explain the following concepts/terms in your own words and indicate the study

question.
1.1Classroom versus laboratory
(Unit 2, page 11, 2.3.1)
Scientist every so often works in laboratories, for some it is a room where facts are been
tested using laboratory equip. The employer provides the laboratory with all the necessary
equipment (gas, electricity, water, and safety equipment) required to make the scientist
work as efficiently as possible. Experiment equipment is provided quite frequently to ensure
the scientists work is not held up for any unnecessary causes.in some cases, expensive,
specialised equipment is bought, the employer makes sure that the scientist is properly
trained to use it.
The need for schools is fundamentally different. In the early days of science of teaching,
schools assumed that they also offer laboratories and that the science curriculum should try
to matriculates who were ready to do laboratory work. A classroom is a place where lecture
are giving students in theory form. Practical science is part of the classroom, and teachers
need to see this location, not the laboratory, as the normal expectation. It remains
compulsory to think about the services that need to be within the school. Water and
electricity are essential as well as equipment suited within the school and are suitable for
practical activities required in the teaching and learning program and the classroom
constraints.
1.2Equipment for practical science in the classroom

Doing practical science in the classroom makes sense but needs cautious preparation and a
very good idea but the teacher must make sure the class is not crowded and there is space
for movement in the classroom. The equipment should be small, simple, and robust. It
needs to be small for it to fit on a classroom desk; it needs to be simple so that using it is not
a barrier to experimenting. The teacher must have a table or desk with enough space for
equipment specifically large enough to be noticeable to all learners in the classroom. Hence
it is quite likely that equipment is different from the kind equipment suited to hands on
learner activities. Storing of equipment and chemicals needs to be planned for. Small scale
of equipment for learner use needs relatively slight space and a lockable cupboard may be
necessary. Chemicals are very dangerous so it needs a well ventilated room to avoid having
large stocks of them
