Unit 2 - Preparatory Task 2: Group of Companies
In this task, you will examine the nature of the relationships between companies within a
group of companies and the commercial issues which give rise to them. Unit Workshop Task
1 will continue this task.
The Enright Group is a group of companies which specialises primarily in engineering work
for railways.
On the basis of the information set out below, create a diagram to represent a “family
tree” for the Enright Group.
Enright Holdings plc (“Holdings”) is a company listed on the Main Market of the London Stock
Exchange.
Holdings has three wholly-owned subsidiary companies:
Enright Management Limited (“Management”);
Enright Engineering Limited (“Engineering”);
Enright Turbines Limited (“Turbines”).
Turbines owns 50% of Yenlite Development Limited (“Yenlite”). The other 50% is owned by
Champion Technologie SA (“Champion”), a French company.
Engineering owns the entire issued share capital of Enright Rail Limited (“Rail”).
