My expectations before reading the book; when I had to choose one of the books, I really didn’t
know which one I should choose. But because I had already read the book “the fault in our stars” (which I
really enjoyed reading) my decision was easily made and I chose to go for the book “paper towns” because
it’s from the same writer as the book “The fault in our stars” So my expectation was really high when I
started reading.

Chapter 1
In the first chapter; the Prologue. Quentin (the main character), tells about his past and his time
growing up living next to Margo Spiegelmann. They grew up together as neighbours in Jefferson Park:
A suburb in Orlando, Florida. Quentin tells how he had a little crush on Margo and that every time she
was going to visit him he was getting very nervous. When they were young they spend a lot of time
together.

Chapter 2
A few years later in the last year of high school Quentin and Margo are in the same class together but
they aren’t good friends like they used to be. Margo is the most popular girl of the school, and she has
an relationship with Jase, also a popular guy. Quentin is a person who isn’t popular but he isn’t a
target of bullying either. Quentin has two best friends: Ben and Marcus (Radar). Quentin is still in love
with Margo after all those years, but it seems like he is invisible to Margo.
On one evening Margo climbs through Quentin’s window and asks him if he wants to help her with
something. Margo doesn’t want to say what the thing is about but Quentin agrees with helping her.
They make a plan, that plan has eight steps:
1. The first step is getting a few different supplies at different stores.
2. Then they will catch Jase on cheating on Margo with her best friend Becca.
3. After that they will make a photo of Jase, running away from Becca’s house naked.
4. Then hide a fish somewhere in Becca’s house.
5. Also hide a fish in Lacey’s car (Margo’s other best friend) for not telling her that Jase was
cheating on her.
6. Remove a part of the eyebrow from the schools biggest bully; Chase, when he is sleeping. Just
because Margo wants to and she thinks it’s a good payback for all the bullying.
7. Break in the highest tower of Orlando.
8. and break in in Sea World.

Although some steps are a little bit crazy, they manage to complete them all. Quentin thinks it is too
exciting at first, but throughout the adventure he discovers what a great time he is having with Margo.
Margo Quentin tells her that she's tired of Orlando, that both the buildings and the people are as fake
as if they were made of paper and that she doesn't feel at home here. When the adventure ends Margo
tells Quentin that she was thrilled to do something with him again. Quentin wonders if she will notices
him at school.
On page 43 Quentin says; 'Yes, at school, where things will be different, where I will be your friend in
public, and also decidedly single, '
