Topic 1 DQ 1: Explain the role of the community health nurse in partnership with community stakeholders for population health promotion. Explain why it is important to appraise community resources (nonprofit, spiritual/religious, etc.) as part of a community assessment and why these resources are important in population health promotion. According to Falkner and Green (2018), health promotion is a key element of public health. With this being said, the role of the community health nurse is to advocate and educate client’s to provide the optimal care each person deserves. Public health nurses collaborate with community stakeholders to address health promotion beyond an individual or family’s needs (Falkner & Green, 2018). Additionally, the community health nurse has a handful of roles, such as establishing credibility within the community, seeking prevention of illness, fosters community organizations, exhibiting cultural competence with diverse populations, and much more (Falkner & Green, 2018). With the partnership of community stakeholders the nurse is able to improve the health of individuals and families’ living, employment, and environment. This collaboration team can develop programs specific to the particular population. It is important to appraise community resources whether it is nonprofit, spiritual, or religious, as they work to advocate for those who don’t know about their health, may not be familiar with how to get specific treatments, or simply cannot afford to get medical treatmen
