Reflective Intercultural Worldview
Reflective Intercultural Worldview In today's globalized world, intercultural communication is becoming increasingly important. The exchange of ideas and experiences between people from diverse cultural backgrounds can foster mutual understanding, respect, and cooperation. Cultures with high values for power distance are often characterized by a hierarchical structure, where there is a clear distinction between those in positions of power and those without (Moreau et al.,2014). As the focus of this paper lies in the understanding of intercultural communication, social power, justice, honor cultures, and gender roles, the interview with a Rwandan individual, and a brief discussion of the cultural value of power distance in Rwanda, as well as the South African philosophy and culture of Ubuntu (Arakaza, 2022). Cultural Reflections on Rwandans In Rwanda, the most important or distinct practices of the culture include raising livestock, being predominantly Christian, and being structured around clans. Gender roles are clearly defined, with women responsible for taking care of the home and men responsible for providing.
