Global Healthcare Issue HIV & AIDS Description HIV & AIDS is one of the most prevalent diseases that is a common issue. HIV infects the immune system and damage or alters its function in fighting disease agents which is progressive if the infected person is not receiving treatment to halt the progression thus, resulting to the immune deficiency that renders the immune system weak in fighting infections (World Health Organization (WHO), 2017). Different countries have different policy and approach in which they handle cases of HIV & AIDS. There are challenges in the management of the disease; however, strategies of managing it may differ in different parts of the world to overcome this challenge while this matrix aims at comparing how the U.S and Zambia approach this global issue HIV & AIDS. Country United States Zambia Describe the policy in each country related to the identified healthcare issue In 2001, the United States and other 189 national governments at the United Nations General Assembly Special Session on HIV/AIDS (UNIGASS) adopted the declaration that mandates the government to make changes for an opportunity that increases their responses to domestic AIDS epidemics that could be realized through setting up of various financing avenue, policy and programming (Open Society Foundations (OSF), 2019).
