PSY 101 WEEK 5 DISCUSSION 2.
PSY-101 WEEK 5 DISCUSSION 2 Character: Willy Wonka from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Dahl & Schindelman 1964) The character Willy Wonka shows several specific identifying factors that represent Borderline Personality Disorder or BPD. BPD is a personality disorder centered around extreme, spastic and often inappropriate emotional reactions, poorly chosen or overall unstable relationship maintenance and uncontrollable impulsive behaviors. Wonka’s character shows evidence of this before even appearing on screen through social reaction and unchallenged bias evaluation. His emotions go from eccentric, but jovial at the start of the tour, childlike imaginative delusions, intense responses to actions, a manic obsession with danger and illustrating emotional fear
