House-Ferret and Aphrodite Analysis
A female, House-Ferret, developed an attraction towards a handsome young man. The Ferret pleaded with the goddess of love, beauty, and pleasure, Aphrodite, to transform it into a human girl in the hope of gaining his affection. The goddess consented to her request and transformed her into a young girl. On seeing the new creation, the young man, on seeing the girl, became enthralled with her and took her home with him. As they rested, Aphrodite, in the quest to see if the Ferret had also changed character by changing form, threw a mouse into the room. The House-Ferret forgetting her present state sprung up and pursued the mouse to eat it. The young man could not help but gape in shock at what he saw. The goddess was much disappointed, so she changed her back to her former state. This fable portrays a superficial transformation of the Ferret as it retained its animal nature despite being given the human form and appearance.
