Present Tense
This tense is used to express what is happening in the present or what happens regularly. It’s also
used to refer to something planned in the near future.
i.e Visito la casa de mi amigo (I visit my friend’s house)
Mañana salgo con mi hermana (Tomorrow, I’m going out with my sister)
Dependant on the type of verb -ar, -er and -ir, all have different stem changes
Hablar (to speak) Comer (to eat) Vivir (to live)
Yo (I) Hablo Como Vivo
Tu (You) - singular Hablas Comes Vives
El / Ella / Usted Habla Come Vive
(He/She/It)
Nosotros (We) Hablamos Comemos Vivimos
Vosotros (You. plural) Habláis Coméis Vivís

IRREGULAR VERBS!!
There are verbs that don’t follow these stem changes and are completely different. It’s often that
the 1st person singular is the only irregular one but that’s not always the case. Some of the most
