Chamberlain College of Nursing NR 510: Leadership Role of the Advanced Practice Nurse

In recent times, more and more nurses are choosing to become APN as part of professionally developing their nursing careers. In order to achieve this goal, a professional development plan will need to be created. Professional development plan enables the nurse to keep record of their activities and show that they are keeping up with their competencies in practice (College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia [CRNBC], 2018). The Professional development plan that will be discussed in this paper will include personal assessment using Benner’s novice to expert method. Goal and objectives will include different ways to help the advance practice nurse student to understand the roles of APN in their own state and find ways of networking with other APN’s who are practicing.
