, Differentiated Lesson Plan
In a Mathematics classroom teachers are required to have a deep understanding of the
mathematical knowledge vital to promoting mathematics learning to all students. Hence, this
lesson is designed to engender a student-centered learning approach as students are engaged,
interest piqued, and assessment of their prior knowledge is done. The lesson provides the
opportunity for students to explore the new concept-Equivalent Fractions- towards constructing
their own knowledge, while being able to freely share and explain their thinking to their peers. I
am planning to modify the process in this lesson by creating Math stations. I also plan to
differentiate the product by allowing the students to complete a Quizziz or a Live worksheet
based on content.
My assessment plan is first to assess the students’ understanding of “Fractions” through a
Discussion. I will assess through the observation of the students’ presentations, game match up
and manipulation of materials.
