1. Eye and Ear Disorders: Assessing Allergies Prior to Administration of Acetazolamide  Risk for cross-sensitivity with sulfonamides.  Allergic reaction with this medication can cause anaphylactic shock.  Medication used to reduce production of aqueous humor by causing diuresis by affecting kidneys. 2. Viral Infections, HIV, and AIDS: Combination Therapy with Protease Inhibitors  1 st-line treatment for HIV when combined with two or three other antiretroviral medications.  HAART involves using three to four HIV medications to reduce medication resistance, adverse effects, and dosages.  Take protease inhibitors with food to increase absorption. 3. Airflow Disorders: Priority Adverse Effects of Inhaled Glucocorticoids  Hoarseness, difficulty speaking, and candidiasis.  Bone loss, myopathy, peptic ulcer disease.  Hyperglycemia, glucosuria, infection, etc. 4. Psychotic Disorders: Effects of Anticholinergic Medications
