 Interpersonal communication is largely concerned with relationships between
people.

 Intrapersonal communication is the process of knowing and communicating with
self.
 Self-concept is concerned with self-worth or self-appraisal.
 Self-image is the picture someone has of the kind of person they think they are.
 Self-esteem is concerned with how people value or approve of themselves.
 Self-efficacy describes the beliefs people have about their abilities.
 Communication styles link personality with interpersonal communication.
 People communicate, learn and think best when they are drawing on personal
learning styles, i.e. visual, verbal or tactile.
 Emotional intelligence is concerned with understanding personal emotions and
those of others.
 In many secular workplaces, professional practice can involve issues that encourage
consideration of spiritual issues.
