Please answer the following questions prior to simulation day:
1.What is cellulitis? Name 3 potential poor outcomes for a patient with cellulitis?
Cellulites is a tissue bacterial infection, that affects the integrity of the underlying tissues of the skin. The bodies response is inflammation, causing the site to be warm, tender, and swollen. Outcomes for cellulites can range from mild to severe; three poor outcomes that could result from cellulites are osteomyelitis, endocarditis, and sepsis (CDC. 2020, May 29).
2.Using your Nursing Diagnosis Handbook list at least 2 nursing diagnoses for a patient with cellulitis. Include three nursing interventions and patient education.
“Acute pain r/t inflammation changes in the form of infection” ( Nursing diagnosis handbook: an evidence-based guide to planning care pg.36).
