Patient Satisfaction is Essential
Businesses such as the health care industry rely on patient satisfaction. Patient satisfaction is essential within businesses. It is more important when within the healthcare industry as it is a great tool to utilize to measure the quality of service in the health care setting. Patient satisfaction affects multiple areas. These areas within the health care setting involves clinical outcomes and patient retention. It can also impact medical malpractice claims. Additionally, it can affect the time, quality of care the patient receives, and effectiveness. Within the healthcare facility in questioning, patient satisfaction is used to measure how successful the healthcare professionals are. Additionally, it measures the quality of care patients receive. It helps providers have a better insight into different views of medicine. This is combined with the effectiveness of the care the patient receives.
There have been many surveys done at Vila Health. These surveys has conducted multiple surveys that have been completed within time pertaining to patient satisfaction. This
was made with information that was obtained. Vila Health has a few areas of improvement needed, but still shown signs of areas that were well excelled in too. The surveys have been
conducted regularly within the past eight months showing that the treatments of patients gotten a 90 percent score within satisfaction. This is excellent competitive advantage for Vila Health as it
just means that 90 percent of the patients that have gotten medical treatment were happy with how they were treated. In comparison to other healthcare facilities, this is considered a bonus with that kind of score. In addition, another advantage for Vila Health is the quality of environment for patients. This quality of environment for patients include the beds and the waiting rooms for patients. This also includes the food that the patients receive which scored a
total of 85 percent. This percent just proves that above other hospitals, people are genuinely
liking the environment of the hospital and will help make the patients want to return again.
As the percent of the patient satisfaction dropped from 93 percent to 79 percent within the past eight months at Vila Health, it has proven there are multiple areas that is in need for improvement according to the patient surveys. That is showing a drastic drop for it being such short timing. An area that needs more improvement is communication from medical professionals to the patients. Another area needed for improvement is the wait times. The communication is showing 65 percent, as the wait times are showing at 49 percent. The wait times in the ER were 47 percent and 38 percent were admitted to the floor from the ER. There was a total of 15 percent that were patients of pediatric patients as well. Patient satisfaction is what helps drive the revenue. It also helps the reimbursement that the hospital gets from private
insurance companies and government. If patients are not satisfied and are unhappy, it is more of
a chance that they will not come back to the hospital. Having great patient satisfaction at a hospital is a main factor where hospitals can attain popularity. It helps show communities that
they provide optimal level of patient care. This plays a big role of being a health care facility as it
is hard to run an organization without patients. Vila Health provided an excellent score pertaining
to patient satisfaction, but started to lower the past eight months. It is essential to now put more
