FEMME FATAL IN THE KILLERS Femme fatal is a character type represented in films where the character is played by a mysterious beautiful woman that often uses seduction and charm to lure her lovers i nto a compromising situation. Femme fatal focuses on using femininity through dressing, beauty and sexual allure and using hidden intention, they create a sexual tension between themselves and their target. Apart from charm, the character can use lies and since the target is sexually interested in her beauty, it becomes easy to trap them. Her wardrobe and hair are highly elegant to give her femininity and sexual attraction. Therefore, anywhere that a hero needs a test or a scape goat, it is highly likely that a femme fatal will be present. The character of femme fatal has been used in film, The Killers, through the character of Kitty Collins, where she uses beauty and flirtation to con and to steal from Anderson which eventually leads to his death. In the film, The Killers, it is very easy to notice Kitty Collins as she is very beautiful and wears beautiful gowns and her hair is always made up. She also has flawless makeup and this makes a lot of men get attracted to her. On the piano scene she is wearing a long stain gown that reveals most of her back area, and this dress beautifully reveals her figure and swede immediately is captured by her beauty. He cannot help but stare at her, and this shows a good use of femme fatal. Because of her beauty swede easily become seduced by her and this shows that beauty is used in this film a distraction to capture the attention of the target which works perfectly with swede and kitty. Kitty is a con and a thief and through her seduction and flirtation she manages to steal money from Swede leaving him with nothing. Anderson, is convinced by Kitty to join a heist to steal diamonds from thieves and gangsters. Anderson is obsessed with the way Kitty and it seems as though he will do anything for her. Through this heist, Anderson, double crosses the thieves and this is where he starts getting haunted down by the killers, to be killed. The killers eventually catch up with him and they shot him dead. Femme fatal has significantly presented itself through this film. Kitty a very beautiful woman uses her sexuality and femininity to drive Anderson into life of theft. Anderson is ready to do anything for her and even goes for a heist for and he eventually gets killed for it. Therefore, Kitty is seen as a very erotic, feminine and confident woman who uses the power of her sexuality as a means to an end. Show Less
