Aim and Objectives
My campaign for change is related to honour crime because it is a high priority crime that is
substantially under reported to the police. My initial aims are to raise awareness about honour
crime; helping the victims with support and advice and highlight the dangers of honour crime
and what someone can do to stop it. My first objective is to put up awareness posters on bus
stops to grasp people’s attention. This objective will help me with my aim of raising awareness
of this crime. My next objective is to is to create a social media campaign on Instagram,
Facebook and Twitter to give advice to victims on how to seek help. My aim is to get at least
200 clicks. This objective will help me with my aim of highlighting support channels for victims.
My third objective is to hold an event/workshop to underline the dangers of honour crime. I will
have police officers give talks and have some victim accounts so the workshop is more
meaningful, It will also teach you what signs to look out for if a person is becoming a victim of
honour crime and how you can prevent it. I will also hand out leaflets as well will statistics on
how common honour crime is.
Why I have chosen this campaign
I have chosen to do honour crime due to the lack of awareness and knowledge the public has
about this type of crime. Honour crime is substantially under reported because the victim may
be fearful of the consequences for themselves or their family if they report the crime to the
police such as being threatened or further getting attacked. They may also think that the police
will not be of any help to them and may not take the report of being attacked by a family
member seriously as there maybe no proof. An example of an honour crime is if a person a
person being attacked by their father, brother, uncle etc for bringing dishonour upon their family.
Target audience
My target audience for my honour crime campaign is people aged 13-25 and people who have
been a victim of an honour crime. I wanted to target people in this demographic as it is the most
