Purpose and Perspective of the Chapter
The purpose of this chapter is to understand the need for an integrated training and
nutrition plan. The chapter reviews basic nutrition guidelines and helps the student to see
how an athlete’s nutrition goals may build upon these basic guidelines. A credentialed
expert can assist an individual in developing an integrated trаining and nutrition plan, so
this chapter will also help the student to identify credible exercise and nutrition
certifications.
