Planning Review
To be completed by the candidate. This page records your outline plan once your proposal has
been approved.

My next steps in planning, researching and deadlines that I will set myself. What I intend
to do, by when, what resources I will use and how I will implement the recommendations of
the centre co-ordinator (where appropriate)

Reviewing my Project Management
I established objectives at the beginning of my project, comprising of independent inquiry
skills to improve my ability to conduct autonomous research effectively, thereby enhancing my
critical thinking and problem solving skills; project management to plan and manage a project,
managing my time well and organising resources effectively; communication skills to be able
to relay my ideas to my supervisor and receive feedback which I can use to improve my
project, these skills will be amplified when I complete my presentation. I believe I am making
progress in achieving these objectives.
I have created many aids to my project which will assist me in writing my report. I have
constructed a Gantt chart that I refer to regularly, in order to manage my deadlines. This has
helped immensely, to manage my time and allocate tasks effectively, especially as I have
upcoming mock examinations. Using a Gantt chart means I am better able to track the progress
of the individual tasks, which allows me to identify any delays or areas where adjustments are
needed. I will amend the chart as required throughout the project in order to maintain
feasibility and adhesion to my deadlines without becoming too overwhelmed.
In addition to my Gantt chart , I have created interim Gantt charts to micromanage the period in
between the deadlines I have set myself. Dissecting my time means I am able to clearly see the
tasks I need to complete, these smaller tasks seem simple to complete and therefore dissolves
the chance of procrastination. These have made sure that I have adequate time to collect
sufficient research to plan and write my project.

However, when I came to create these Gantt charts, I came across the recurring problem whilst
attempting to create these charts on a website ( for example www.teamGanttchart.com). To
resolve this issue, I have opted to use Excel to create my Gantt charts.

, I have spent time creating a risk assessment table to prepare for any obstacles I may need to
tackle throughout the project. The table displays some of the risks I could face as well as the
counteraction I can perform to combat these challenges. This is beneficial to me as any
challenges that I may come across can be dealt with effectively, as I am confident that I have
already planned a response action to the posed risk. This will not only save time when I am
completing the project, but also affirms an adequate level of certainty that I am able to resolve
the problem in a timely manner, and in a way such that the rest of my project is not affected.
