players is strictly prohibited unless the agent receives prior written
approval from the MLBPA.
Client Eligibility Requirement: Loans may only be extended to existing,
current clients—never as an inducement or sign-on bonus to attract
potential or prospective clients.
Prohibited Lock-in Provisions: Loan agreements cannot contain clauses
requiring the player to remain a client of the agent, nor can they impose any

Third-Party Loan Reporting: If a third party (e.g., a bank or financial
institution) issues a loan to a player client involving the agent's assistance,
