1. Agent Regulations — Equipment & Apparel
 Annual Financial Limit: An agent/agency may provide a maximum of
3,000 worth of equipment and apparel per year for each player client.
 Universal Application: Applies equally to all players under agent
representation, regardless of whether they are on the 26-man active roster,
40-man roster, or minor league contract.
 Notification Window Upon Agent Change: If a player switches
representation, the former agent must submit a full report of all equipment
purchased for that player to the MLBPA within 48 hours.

gear provided to player clients during the preceding year must be submitted
to the MLBPA no later than March 1st.
2. Agent Regulations — Fee Statements
 Annual Submission Deadline: Certified player agents must submit their
annual Fee Statements detailing compensation received from clients to the
MLBPA no later than March 1st.
3. Agent Regulations — Player Loans & Financial Assistance
 General Rule & Prior Approval: Extending loans or financial advances to
players is strictly prohibited unless the agent receives prior written
approval from the MLBPA.
 Client Eligibility Requirement: Loans may only be extended to existing,
current clients—never as an inducement or sign-on bonus to attract
potential or prospective clients.
 Prohibited Lock-in Provisions: Loan agreements cannot contain clauses
requiring the player to remain a client of the agent, nor can they impose any

, financial penalty or accelerated interest penalty if the player terminates the
representation agreement.
 Third-Party Loan Reporting: If a third party (e.g., a bank or financial
institution) issues a loan to a player client involving the agent's assistance,
the agent must fully report all terms and conditions of that third-party
loan to the MLBPA.
