through the opening in the abdominal wall or stoma.
* The ostomy appliance consists of a wafer and bag. The
wafer sticks to the abdominal wall with adhesive and is
made of plastic.

2. Pull skin to one side.
3. Insert needle deep IM.
4. Inject medication.
5. Withdraw needle.
6. Release skin.
- Medication is prevented from oozing back out.
Before give it slide the tissue to the side injecting then
letting skin move back
Vastus Lateralis: to administer

, Locate the area between the greater trochanter of the femur and the knee.
Divide this area into thirds. Give the injection into the middle third, grasping
the thigh and compressing the muscle as shown. The needle should be
directed on a front-to-back course.
