The activity
You are part of the health informatics team at Central Clinic, a
primary care organization focused on improving preventive
care through data and technology. Your current task is to
evaluate how well the clinic’s clinical reminder system is
supporting colorectal cancer screening.
To assist with this, Central Clinic recently implemented a new
tool in its EHR called ScreenSmart. This enhancement helps
reduce inaccurate “Overdue” reminders by identifying other
possible evidence of completed screenings and prompting human
review when needed.
Before beginning the activity, please review the attached
ScreenSmart resource located on the Overview & Resources section
of this activity.
Once you’ve reviewed the resource, launch the patient’s EHR
under 2: Launch EHR, navigate to the Alerts tab, and begin
answering the questions below.
