Normal sinus rhythm (NSR) - answerregular rhythm of the heart cycle stimulated by the
SA node (average rate of 60-100 beats/minute)

Sinus Bradycardia - answer<60 bpm

Sinus Tachycardia - answer>100 bpm

Premature Atrial Contraction (PAC) - answerirregular heart rhythm characterized by
atrial contractions occurring before the expected time

Supraventricular Tachycardia (SVT) - answeran abnormal heart rhythm arising from
abnormal electrical activity in the heart; originates at or above the AV node

Sinus Arrest - answer- SA node doesn't fire
- notice absence of P-wave for a complete cycle (a missed cycle)

Sinus Arrhythmia - answerA sinus rhythm in which the rate varies with respiration,
causing an irregular rhythm.

atrial fibrillation - answeroccurs when the normal rhythmic contractions of the atria are
replaced by rapid irregular twitching of the muscular heart wall

Preventricular Contraction (PVC) - answerAbnormal beat generated from the ventricles.
Characterized by a wide and bizarrely shaped QRS.

ventricular tachycardia - answerA rapid heart rhythm in which the electrical impulse
begins in the ventricle (instead of the atrium), which may result in inadequate blood flow
and will eventually deteriorate into cardiac arrest.
Characterized by a "saw tooth" or "shark tooth" rhythm strip.

Torsades de pointes - answerIt is a polymorphic ventricular tachycardia that is
charazterized by "twisting peaks" on the QRS. (Resembles a sound wave). It is a
specific type of abnormal heart rhythm that can lead to sudden cardiac arrest.

Ventricular fibrillation (V-fib) - answerabnormal heart rhythm which results in quivering
of ventricles. Not compatible with life.

Atrial Flutter - answeryour heart's upper chambers (atria) beat too quickly causing a fast
but regular rhythm.
