Implementing an EHR system effectively is very important when it comes to major

healthcare facilities. We will be talking today about Healthcare organization Alpha, which

consists of many facilities in one company. For organizations like this we will need to look into

the considerations that should be taken into account when recommending applications to be used

in this EHR.

Organization

Alpha is a healthcare organization that expands into multiple different facilities. This

means they will need a bigger, more complex EHR that will accommodate for the many

specialties they have. The potential aspects that will need to be considered is the broad variety of

facilities and patient to bed ratio. With there being so many facilities and beds they will need

more staff, more equipment and more safety precautions going into the EHR to protect the

patients as well as staff. Based on the information provided, this healthcare organization has a

broad horizon of services they provide. Such as surgery, lab testing, family and internal

medicine, cardiology, neurology, orthopedic and child care. This scope of services will require a

lot of services within the EHR. The key stakeholders in the EHR consists of clinicians,

administration, billing, IT and leaderships. These play critical roles to ensure the system meets

the facilities needs.
